A New & Fresh Perspective! Update on Yoni's Unit...New T-Shirts!

The soldiers here are young & sweet…much like the majority of the youth in Israeli culture, there is an innocence that we don’t find so much in other places. This is a culture founded on the Torah (first 5 books of the Bible) and the TANAKH (the Torah, Prophets & the Writings… what Christians refer to as the Old Testament) and although it is true that many other Jews are secular, the Biblical values Israel was founded on still permeate the culture. It is encouraging and refreshing to see.
Behold, how good & pleasant it is for brothers to dwell together in unity.

Our team had a couple of new friends along for the ride. They are both originally from the USA who have been here in Israel for just a few months. Again, we went South near the Gaza Strip to deliver a few vests and gift bags to an IDF unit in training. They were just finishing their intense training to soon deploy straight into Gaza.
Rather than give you my own observations, I’d love to share those of *Suzy, who interacted with Israeli soldiers for the first time on a personal level. The following is what *Suzy wrote:
"…even though I knew what you were doing was important, It didn't have a personal connection for me. But after seeing those boys... 💔 I can not imagine, I don't want to think about what their families must be going through. While I was there, I imagined those boys being my son... Having to allow them to go serve during an active war where there are causalities every single day….
They are doing something extremely noble…
"On Erev Shabbat [Friday evening] we met Lavi . He has recently come back from Gaza. While he was physically fine, while getting to know him, you could see the hurt, confusion, and trauma he has and continues to endure. We learned of just some of the horrors he encountered. *Lavi went into the IDF more secular, but came out wearing his kippah and a white shirt. He is still actively searching for answers to why he went through what he endured….he is fighting to find answers, and so far has landed on that there is about to be a shift in his nation and in the world…and it has something to do with God and a possible end…Going with you yesterday made *Lavis life more real to me.
So thank you for that experience…"
