Hot Summer Days, Boots Wearing Thin...Prayers & Perseverance Needed...

How beautiful upon the mountains are the feet of him who brings good news, Who proclaims peace, Who brings glad tidings of good things, Who proclaims salvation, Who says to Zion, "Your God reigns!" Isaiah 52:7

It's HOT in Israel these days. It's hard to even imagine the soldiers in all their gear, weighted down with lifesaving ballistic plates, vest, helmet, ammunition... conducting life or death missions in the unforgiving heat. I have to admit it's hard work to continue on...with the war...the news...the growing antisemitism around the world...but Israel STILL needs our support, our prayers, and our perseverance.

In late July, I attended an intensive two-week Israeli Self Defense Instructor's Course in Hod HaSharon (close to Tel Aviv). I hope to use this course to foster connections in both the US and Israel. The intense heat & long hours of training was challenging to say the least!

As Americans, we are so used to comfort that living without air-conditioning seems unimaginable. As the hot Israeli summer approached, a friend contacted me to see if the Help Israel Now Project could provide her unit with an outdoor A/C unit to help the soldiers cool down. I was delighted to assist her! Thank you for your contributions that made this possible! Due to the nature of her unit and security concerns, I won't share any pictures. Just know that your support made a difference.

Just as I was departing Israel for my mandatory "time-out" (visa break), a Commando unit reached out to me. This reserve unit was called up after October 7th and has been continuously fighting in Gaza. The boots issued by the IDF offer minimal support, leading to numerous requests for specialized combat boots. This unit, in particular, is in dire need of them, having spent countless hours on their feet defending their country day after day. Each pair costs just under $300 and they are requesting 25 pairs. I plan to donate these combat boots in increments of 10 and will keep you updated!

So... what now? I (Neomi) have come back to South Carolina for a few months to rest, work and recuperate, and my teammate Brooke will be our hands and feet in Israel. Please be in prayer for her as she diligently serves the Jewish people. She continues to be part of the special ladies self defense course by supporting these women and representing the Help Israel Now Project.

"With just a couple months left before my own visa break, I really need to rely on the Lord for strength. Maybe it's just the heat, but I discovered how important it is to rest in the Lord when He provides the opportunity. Sometimes the work can be tiring but I am blessed by the work just as much as those who are being provided for. I have really been impacted by the response of our self defense project. These ladies in Krav Maga are so thankful for the opportunity and really appreciate the expert way the coach teaches and really cares for them. One parti even said, "This is my favorite part of the week!" They really feel supported and that is what the Help Israel Now Project is all about. He is moving, protecting and Saving his people! We live in amazing times. They are hard, yes, but we are seeing the harvest. I write this to encourage you and myself. It is WORTH IT!
