Supporting Local Heroes Through Winter Warmth!

Team HINP (Help Israel Now Project) had a rewarding experience distributing warm winter jackets to units in and around Gaza. Indeed, Gaza can be COLD, particularly now, despite being a desert! The temperatures plummet significantly at night, and many of the soldiers we support work and travel there in the dark when it is COLD!

***These jackets were made possible because of YOUR generosity! Additionally, thanks to a NEW partnership with a California Church that LOVES Israel, we were able to provide everything that was necessary! Praise God!

We began our deliveries by visiting a Golani combat unit close to Gaza and were invited onto the base for a short tour and to meet the soldiers. This was a special opportunity, as it wasn't feasible at the start of the war, due to their busy schedules. Now that the situation has stabilized, we have more flexibility. These young men, who have been fighting since the conflict began, were very grateful for our visit and the warm clothing we provided them!

On our next visit, we met with a tank unit stationed right next to the border. They have been moving in and out of Gaza since the beginning. They shared stories about their experiences during Operation Protective Edge (2014), when they lost their friend Oron Shaul. They also told us that they were the ones who managed to retrieve his body, and although it was very difficult for them, it provided closure. Additionally, they mentioned that in the past two days, they narrowly escaped death twice in different situations. We pray for their safety and trust that the Great Protector is at work!

Take just 60 seconds & listen to this Hero's story! His love for his Land comes from the Lord. The Lord who called this young man back to serve and love and defend. "Fear not, for I am with you; I will bring your offspring from the East, and from the west I will gather you. I will say to the north, Give up, and to the south, Do not withhold; bring my sons from afar and my daughters from the end of the earth." Isaiah 43:5-6

Our final meeting was with our close friend, *Aaron, whom we've come to know well. However, we could tell something was different about him... and then he shared that his dear friend and driver had been killed in an explosion just two weeks prior. We knew Alex, and the news left us shocked and dismayed. All we could offer Aaron were our prayers, love, and heartfelt hugs. He managed to smile a little as he read the words of love some of you wrote to him, along with cards from children attending a local believing school here in the Land. Please pray for his healing and for his heart.
